About

Nalini is a Practicing Consultant in our Trust Law team, with two decades of experience in law and governance. A Canterbury University Graduate with both Bachelors of Laws and Arts (Geography and Management) she began her career in Wellington, before starting with Harmans in 2003. After taking some time away to focus on her family and community, she rejoined the firm in 2023.

Nalini specialises in trust law, asset protection, estate, and succession planning, and enjoys working closely with clients providing, tailored, pragmatic and timely legal solutions. She is expert in the management and governance of trusts. She takes a holistic view of estate and succession planning, including tailored wills and advice on Enduring Powers of Attorney.

Nalini is a Lay Member of the New Zealand Psychologists Board/Te Poari Kaimatai Hinengaro o Aotearoa, a Regulatory Authority under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in respect of the profession of Psychology – first appointed by the Minister of Health in 2015, and recently reappointed for a third term. She is currently Chair of the Audit, Risk and Finance Committee. The purpose of the Board is to protect the public through ensuring safe and competent practice, as the Board regulates all aspects of training through to practice, conduct, fitness and complaints.
