Seaton started with Harmans in 1973 and was appointed a Partner in 1976, remaining as a Partner until November of 2020, when he was appointed a practising Consultant. After an initial grounding in litigation, he concentrated on establishing a commercial and conveyancing client base. His areas of practice now focus on commercial leasing, trusts and estate planning.
Seaton’s special interest and expertise is advising clients in the hospitality industry. He has come to act for the owners and operators of hotels, motels, motor inns, restaurants and other tourist-related industries all over New Zealand. More recently, he has developed an interest in trusts and estate planning and now heads the firm’s trust law team.
Seaton is a member of Hospitality New Zealand and has been a member of the national board since October 2017. He has presented many seminars in conjunction with other professionals working in the hospitality industry.
